Review by Greg Simpson, Mindbender Music:
The Carpet Frogs are probably the most seen and heard band in Canada that relatively few are aware of. For years the veteran musicians who make up the band, whose personal pedigrees have them listed as members of some of the best known bands in the country's history, have been working under this name, but are still best known as the band who back up Burton Cummings on his tours. In 2006, they hit every major market in the country backing up Burton and his musical partner Randy Bachman on their highly successful "FIRST TIME AROUND" tour, and are now doing the same thing in select American markets as The Bachman * Cummings band. The new album is full of one pop gem after another, and the first single, Lies, should firmly establish them as a radio airplay staple for the simple reason that it is just that damn good.
